Historic Swift-Coles Home in Bon Secour

Sometimes the unexpected things are fantastic!  Today we’re taking a little tour of one of those unexpected finds.  You have to realize we are new to the area and are just beginning to find all of the local sights so I was thrilled when my husband and I came upon this beautiful old home tucked away in Bon Secour!

This lovely circa 1882 Tidewater Mansion, located in Bon Secour, Alabama is the Historic Swift-Coles home.  It’s now owned and operated by Baldwin County and is also open for tours.

Can you imagine how it must have been to live here??? It started out as a four room home and in 1908 the upstairs was built.  A member of the Swift family lived in the home until 1976.

These pictures are from Roots Web where more pictures of the inside of the home can be seen.

Baldwin County Alabama is a beautiful area!  If you haven’t visited, you should put it at the top of your list!!  But be prepared!  You may never want to go home!!

I was in Alabama for the first time last October. We went to see Helen Keller's birthplace in Tuscumbia and it was so beautiful. I sooo want to go back someday.

This house is gorgeous. Oh my goodness....divine!
