Where Bloggers Create Blog Party…..

Welcome to Whispering Hills!  I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit!  First a big Thank You to Karen at  My Desert Cottage for hosting the creative space blog party!  I can’t wait to visit everyone’s blogs!

Those of you who have visited me recently know that I am actually moving this weekend.  Yep!  While you’re looking at my post everything has already been packed up and is moving down the road!  Soon I will have a new and much bigger creative space!  But for now…..come on in….take a peak at what has been my little space for the past three years.

creative space 001

It’s actually just a nook at the end of my kitchen.    Quite handy…but not a real good idea for dieting!!

sewing space 002

My passion is doll making…everything from French to Primitives.  I shouldn’t tell you but I have boxes of antique dolls stored in climate control storage….shhhhhhh, our secret!  Hopefully they’ll all get to come out and play at the new house!

A small space certainly has taught me to organize!  I love using jars and pretty flower pots for organizing lace, pencils, paint brushes, etc.  This fantastic jar I bought at the Country Living Fair in 2007….it holds a lot of lace!!

I also love boxes!  So many things can be stored in boxes!  I bought these at Michael’s on sale for 80% off….they practically paid me to take them home!  Since moving to the Eastern Shore in southern Alabama I can’t resist the beach theme!

creative space 006

I also have jars holding old wooden spooled silk and cotton threads.  I love the texture and colors…and they bring back fond memories of watching my great grandmother sew on her old treadle machine.

I brought my chandelier with me when I moved south from Ohio.   My husband thought I was crazy!  Some things you just can’t easily part with!

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog!  I had so much fun doing it!  Thanks again for stopping!!  Be sure to follow me!!  It’s going to be a fun time moving into a bigger place and getting into everything I’ve had stored for three years!

Your sewing corner is simply divine! I love that corner. What caught my eye was that little prim dolly with the hand sewn face (she won my heart instantly). I love the cleanness of your space and I bet it is a joy to work there! *smiles* Norma

I'm working my way backwards now having made it through the C's! : ) So glad I got to see your place and how nice you're getting bigger digs. You'll have to share that next year! I'm hoping to have a new and bigger space myself for next year's party. I'm getting lots of ideas from everyone for some great storage and set-up. I love your desk and sewing machine lay-out. Your dolls are wonderful and I'm going to take a look around while I'm here!

By now your probably all moved into that new studio space. Your dolls are lovely, I have a few too, still in storage, I hope they will be ok after all this time (6 years), but my passion is quilting. I will hope on over and see if you have your new digs set up
